It depends on the expedition. We rate each trip from Easy to Challenging. Easy trips require basic walking fitness. Moderate trips need regular exercise. Challenging treks like Kilimanjaro require cardio training 3-4 times per week for 3 months prior. Every trip listing includes detailed fitness requirements and we offer pre-trip training guides.
All permits, park fees, accommodation, meals during the expedition, expert guide services, ground transportation, and comprehensive travel insurance. International flights, personal gear, tips, and visas are not included. We provide a detailed breakdown when you book.
Absolutely! About 40% of our travelers come solo. You’ll be paired with another solo traveler for accommodation (or pay a single supplement for a private room). Our small group sizes make it easy to connect and you’ll never feel alone.
We offer flexible cancellation policies. Cancel 90+ days before departure for a full refund minus a $250 admin fee. 60-89 days: 50% refund. 30-59 days: 25% refund. Under 30 days: no refund unless you have travel insurance (which we strongly recommend). Medical emergencies with documentation are handled case-by-case.
